VERY VERY effectiveFeb 15, 2010 I bought these for my husband who is a surgeon and travels most of the year on airplanes. He was always coming home with really swollen ankles. These are perfect. He wears them everyday that he is gone and when he gets home, he has ankles!

A Better AlternativeDec 21, 2009 After doing quiet a bit of research on compression socks, I decided to purchase these as an alternative to mainstream commercial compression socks geared towards runners, not only are these tighter (30-40mmHg), they are cheaper and the construction is very good quality. Some things to note is that you need to hand wash these or wash them on the gentle cycle and then air dry to prevent the socks from loosing their compression properties. If you like to run in compression socks these are great for that also; very thin, you can even slide another pair of socks over them if it's extra cold outside. The leaflet inside the box also says that the compression will last 6 months, for $20 dollars I can't complain; after all these are medical grade.
I pretty much keep these on all day when I'm not running, very comfortable. I'd recommend these over any commercial running brand compression wear. It takes a couple "off and ons" to get the hang of putting on compression socks. Just take your time and follow the instructions on the information leaflet in the box and you'll get the hang of it.
